Brief history
Voice of Soul's prehistory goes back to the autumn of 1994. Then a few users and survivors decided to come together regularly and study English. In February of 1996 a General Assembly of ten people decided to set up the very first user/survivor only association in Hungary. At present our membesrhip exceeds 120 persons. Most of the members are in the margin of the society: living on disability pension. Voice of Soul has become one of the most active self-help NGOs in Central and East Europe. We are a part of the European Network of (ex-)Users and Survivors of Psychiatry and of the Hamlet Network.
