INTRODUCTION TO IMAGE THEORY
Organizer: School for History and Theory of Images, Centre for Contemporary Art - Belgrade
On October 26th, School for History and Theory of Images started its
Winter semester for the third time. During the next year, the school will
offer a two-semester course titled Introduction to Image Theory, together
with already existing courses Reading the Images and Politics of Theory.
The basic course will consider the discipline of image theory through
various examples in the field of art history, architecture, film and media
studies, pop culture and everyday life.
The School Board (resident lecturers): Branislava Anđelković, Ljiljana
Blagojević, Nevena Daković, Jerko Denegri, Branislav Dimitrijević, Marina
Martić, Branimir Stojanović (president). In this Academic year, the School
will present lectures by acclaimed theorists including: Slavoj Žižek,
Stephen Bann, Victor Missiano, Boris Groys, Elisabeth Cowie, Dejan
Sretenović, Rado Riha, Jelica Šumić - Riha, Vasif Kortun, Nebojša
Jovanović, Vida Rakić, etc.
