This is an "empty" stereogram showing simple translational symmetry. If we have a look at the background motif or the periodic pattern,

we will see a simple plane with the text floating before it. We can see patterns like this every day - on a tablecloth, on a fence or on the rubber floor of the underground. In a "real" stereogram the periodicity is defective: from this our brain constructs the spatial motif.
