In SOLID Web Engine, Factum found the perfect data management component to be embedded in and deployed with their product: an extremely care-free system that is inexpensive enough to be distributed to numerous customer organizations. intraNEWS Box

intraNEWS Box is a Web server network for German buying groups, which are associations of companies within a certain branch who have joined forces in purchasing activities. intraNEWS Box allows purchasers at individual companies to look up information and place orders using their Web browser.

Each local intraNEWS Box is connected via ISDN to a central server where shared information is hosted. The central intraNEWS Box runs on a Linux web server and the database operates on SOLID Web Engine for Linux. The application is written with Java and uses SOLID JDBC Driver to access the database.
