New Features

Version 2.3 is the first generally available version of SOLID Light Client API.

Standards Support

SOLID Light Client is a database client library providing a compact but complete set of functions. These functions provided conform closely to ODBC 2.0 Core Level specification with the exception of two functions that conform the SAG CLI specification. For details, see the SOLID Light Client Function Reference.

SOLID Light Client supports all SOLID Server features. SOLID Server is an ANSI SQL standards compliant database, as documented in the SOLID Server Technical Information sheet.

SOLID Server Support

SOLID Light Client v.2.3 requires SOLID Server release 02.20.0027 or higher.

The only supported communication protocol is TCP/IP.

Tested Run-time and Development Environments

Solid Light Client has been tested on the following runtime environments:

  • Windows NT 3.51 and 4.00
  • Windows 95
  • DOS v.6.22 with Microsoft Lan Manager v.2.1 package, containing:
    • Microsoft DOS TCP/IP 1.0a
    • Microsoft Sockets Driver 2.2a

The following tools have been used for application development:

  • 32-bit Windows: MS Visual C++ v.4.2 & 5.0
  • DOS: MS Visual C++ v.1.50, v.1.51 & v.1.52
